Spiral

It’s not happening tomorrow, nor next week, not even in the following decade, but earth is running out of it rather soon. We probably have used up most of it already and the demand increases day by day. Let’s face it, we are soon running

Out of Oil.

Global warming, pollution, the demolition of the earth, it’s all our own fault. Right, true, sorry. We’ve known that for quite some time now, but sticking our head in the sand has always seemed the best solution. The trouble with most environmentalists has always been their not-so-cool presentation and their threat that we have to stop doing this and never do that again or else…! Not exactly what people like to hear, not exactly what they are willing to do. We, people in the rich countries, are spoiled and don’t want to change our way of living. No way! People in the poorer countries cannot be expected to abandon their dreams of living the life we live just because we already made such a mess of the world. So, with giant economies like those of India and China growing rapidly, energy demands will increase by the day and there’s little anyone can do to control that. Don’t even try. Instead of trying to change peoples behaviour, we better find (clean) alternatives for this ever increasing energy demand and we better find these soon.

Don’t get me wrong, I guess it is a good thing to promote energy efficiency and to teach people to be aware of such a thing as durability but it is like fight a losing battle to make people give up their luxury lifestyles. So it’s probably a better idea to find energy sources that are no burden to the environment so we can go on enjoying ourselves a couple of ages longer. There’s a big warm sun up there that offers all the energy we’ll ever need, let’s use it! This blog will show some of the progress that’s been made.

I intend to start a few photo and video projects about sustainable  energy myself, emphasizing on initiatives of individuals and small companies. This blog will also be the platform to inform about the progress of these projects.
